We are currently looking for a number of Protein Research Scientists to join a rapidly expanding biotechnology company based in the Cambridge area.

This could be a great opportunity for a life sciences graduate with industry experience to make a move into the biotechnology / biotherapeutic industry.

The Protein Research Scientists will undertake a lab-based role, accountable for designing and executing processes based on established protocols, and subsequent analysis, interpretation and reporting of the results.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Design and execute a diverse range of experiments for the discovery of novel therapeutic antibodies and antibody fragments.

2. Analyse and critically interpret experimental data to draw proper conclusions.

3. Carry out on-going analysis of data generated to identify issues and implement necessary optimisations. Communicate ideas, experimental strategy methods and results to supervisor and teams.

4. Communicate data and results in the form of summary reports/ presentations with interpretation for project meetings and discussions.

5. Contribute to the maintenance of reagents and general lab facilities.

6. Read scientific literature and keep up with the new trends and techniques related to role.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

We are looking for candidates for the role of Protein Research Scientist who are able to demonstrate the following skills and/or qualifications:

1. At least a BSc in a relevant life sciences field, plus relevant hands on laboratory experience.

2. Protein expression, purification and characterisation experience is essential, as is experience of molecular biology. Any additional experience with cell based assays, high throughput screening, SDS PAGE, FACS and antibody engineering would be of great interest.
